There is a dog barking today pretty loudly, and I'm willing to make a play on it. The Colorodo Rockies are one of the early suprises in this young 2006 season. As they currently sport a 10-8 record and they've done it with great play on the road as they are currently 5-1 away from Coors Field. Philadelphia should play more games on the road it seems as their home record is currently 3-8. Suprisingly or unsuprisingly given the state of the public, they are on the Phillies by over 60%. We are going against the public today and taking the dog as the Rockies with their new addition Jason Fogg has pitched well considering games are in Coors Field and the team is a perfect 3-0 when he has taken the mound. Fogg had a rough season with the Pirates last year going 6-11 with a 5+ era but has found new life with the Rockies where he has pitched nearly 18 innings and has given up just 5 runs. Corey Lidle gave up 9 runs in 11 innings to the Rockies young lineup last year, and that he has historically carried a 5+ era in his MLB carreer, this provides a great opportunity for the dog to come out on top today. In short, we get the hotter pitcher, the hotter team on the road where they have performed extremely well against a team that has the weaker pitcher heading into tonight on the home turf where they have failed to win consistently. Rockies here.
