The Cleveland Indians and the Toronto Blue Jays have both swung the bats well this season, but have gotten some spotty pitching at times. They played a 1-0 game last night, and the offenses seem to be feeling the effects of the four-day layoff. The Jays are desperate for pitching and have given a shot to journeyman Aaron Laffey, and he has been impressive in his three starts in a Jay's uniform. Laffey has allowed just 5 runs in the three starts to good offensive teams in the Yankees, Angels, and White Sox. Ubaldo Jimenez burst on the scene in a big way in 2010 when he posted a 19-8 record for the Rockies behind a 2.88 ERA, but he has not been the same pitcher since, posting an 18-20 mark since his breakout season. The Indians have struggled along with him, as they are 3-8 when he starts on the road as a dog. Cleveland overall has played just four of their last 18 on the road to the OVER when facing a club with a winning home record. The Jays have been raking the cash as a home favorite of -110 to -150 where they have put 8 of their last 11 in the win column. They have an identical 8-3 mark to the UNDER as favorites of -110 to -150 as well. Chad Fairchild is calling balls and strikes for this one and he has called seven UNDERs in his last eight behind the dish. Play on Toronto and take the UNDER.
