New York clobbered the Indians 9-2 on Tuesday as Michael Conforto hit a tiebreaking home run in the sixth inning and the Mets scored four more in the seventh to put it away. Cleveland lost for the fifth time in seven games while the Mets won their third game in a row to stay within two games of a Wild Card spot. New York is 20-6 its last 26 games overall and 13-3 its last 16 home games. Also, the Mets have won eight of their last nine interleague games. New York has won all three of Marcus Stroman's starts since he was acquired in a trade although he has gotten good run support. Adam Plutko has a 4.67 ERA overall and 5.29 on the road and opposing hitters are batting .314 against him in his road appearances.
