It doesn't seem too long ago that Ubaldo Jimenez was looking like the next elite pitcher in baseball. Jimenez was 19-8 in 2010 for the Rockies with an ERA of 2.88. It turns out that he was a one-year wonder, as he has since gone just 25-34, producing no better than a 4.46 ERA. The Royals are an improved team, and although the record stands at just 3-6, James Shields has done everything expected of him coming over from Tampa Bay and more. Shields owns a 2.99 ERA and the Royals have claimed victory in each of his last six starts. Jimenez has not been up to the challenge on the road in an expected pitcher's duel where the Tribe is 1-6 in his last seven starts with a total from 7 to 8.5. The Royals have taken advantage vs. mediocre pitching as they are 14-6 in their last 20 vs. a pitcher with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Take Kansas City.
