With Verlander' solid pitching coupled with their new ace in Kenny Rogers and past strong holds such as Bonderman, Maroth and Robertson, it's no wonder the Detroit Tigers are 34-14. This team is simply playing great baseball combining very good pitching with an offense that provides a lead. Verlander this year is 5-3 with a 2.7 ERA as compared to last year when he posted a 7+ ERA. It's amazing the transition this young man has made in just one year as he is paying off the faith the Tigers had in him. Verlander's numbers in fact trump those of the veteran Paul Byrd who is 4-3 with a 5.92 ERA. The Indians are 1-5 in their last six road games while the Tigers are 21-5 in their last 26 and 13-3 at home of late. The Tigers are also 24-8 this season vs. losing teams and 19-4 vs. poor bullpens (ERA 4.50+). Does that not say it all? We will ride the Tigers here as baseball is all about streaks and they are on a tear right now with the pitching advantage as well. Baseball is back in Detroit as the Stones are not the only ones getting the attention in the state of Michigan.
