The Cincinnati Reds still have interest here, despite closing out the NL Central a long time ago. They are tied with Washington for the best record in the NL, and the top dog gets home field advantage throughout the playoffs, including the World Series. The Cardinals have a two-game lead on the Dodgers for the No. 2 NL wildcard slot, and a win here wraps it up. Matt Latos has come up huge for the Reds as they have won his last six starts. They are also 22-7 in his last 29 starts. The often-injured Chris Carpenter has worked just 11 innings on the season, so I’m not sure what to expect from him here. At the worst, the Reds have an even matchup on the hill, and have a better pen as an underdog. Play on Cincinnati.
