It has been a long time since the Cincinnati Reds have fielded a playoff-caliber team, and this season may turn out to be the worst of all. The Reds have lost 94 games or more in each of the last three seasons, and their 3-16 start is even uglier than that. The offense displayed some potential a year ago, but through 19 games in 2018, they are producing fewer than three runs per contest. The pitching has been equally as bad, allowing 5.5 runs per game. That has left this team in an uncompetitive state, losing on average by over 2.5 runs per game.
