The San Diego Padres are a bad team and are going to threaten the 100 loss mark this season. That being said, no matter how bad a team is, they have a tendency to have a couple bright spots during the course of the season. For San Diego, that time is now. The Padres are 10-6 over their last 16 games playing at a high level. Johny Cueto, on the otherhand is going to win a lot of games for the Reds. However, like all good pitchers, the slate isn`t always clean. Cueto has dropped two straight. The Reds are just 4-9 when Cueto takes the mound vs. the NL West and the Reds track record in series game four is not a good one at 4-11 in their last 15. The Padres are now 4-0 following a game where they scored five or more and have been great in extended series closing out game four with a 7-1 mark in their last eight. Mark Wegner is behind home plate today and the Reds are 5-22 the last 27 times he has called balls and strikes. In addition, the home team is 7-0 with Wegner behind the plate. Play on San Diego.
