This series is going to go a long way in sorting out affairs in the competitive NL Central with three teams separated by just two games. The Pirates can't be feeling to good here as they squandered a four-game series at home vs. San Diego, winning just one time. Mat Latos has made a great addition to the Reds' rotation. In 10 career appearances vs. the Pirates, he owns a tidy 2.66 ERA. Francisco Liriano comes in with equal billing and a 16-7 record backed by a 2.92 ERA. Liriano has been extra sharp at home where he lost just one time this season. The problem is that loss was at the hands of the Reds. The Reds' pitching has been super after allowing 5 or more runs in their previous game where they are 53-17. Latos is the perfect ace on the mound to extend the success. Play on Cincinnati.
