Chicago looks to salvage a game from this series and it has Drew Smyly on the mound and he is 5-1 with a 2.93 ERA and 0.98 ERA and the Cubs have won seven of his 10 starts this season. Smyly has bounced around from team to team in his career and he seems to have found his niche with the Cubs and he has allowed only seven runs on 14 hits in 26 innings at home this year. Chicago won his last start when he gave up two runs on four hits in five innings against the Mets on Tuesday. Graham Ashcraft has been clobbered his past four starts allowing 25 earned runs in only 16 innings and the Reds lost three of them.
