Looking at this baseball season, a lot of surprises have taken place. One of those is the play of the Cincinnati Reds. While the Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, Angels, and Phillies got all the props before the season started, this Cincinnati team finished under .500 a year ago, but sits above all the aforementioned teams in winning percentage as we ride into the dog days of August. The Cubs were feeling good about themselves awhile back, and they were playing above expectations. When management dealt their top pitcher in Ryan Dempster, the Cubs have appeared to quit, as they have not won since at 0-8. It isn't just losing, the Cubs have been shutout three times, and outscored 40-16 or by 3 runs per game on average. What is worse is their 0-10 record in Volstad's last 10 starts. The Reds are hot and confident, and have taken seven straight vs. teams below .400, so they take these easy games seriously. Play on Cincinnati.
