While Baltimore can play free and easy with an 8.5 game cushion in the AL East, Cincinnati has just about played themselves out of contention in the NL as they reside seven games behind for the second and final Wild Card entry. Matt Latos has not been enough for the Reds despite a 3.15 ERA on the season, as Cincinnati is just 6-8 in his 14 starts. I think Baltimore is happy getting 11 wins out of Bud Norris thus far, and he has pitched especially well at home this season where he is 5-2 with a 3.16 ERA. Cincinnati does not play well as a small to mid-sized dog where they are an ugly 19-39 in their last 58. They have also stumbled in interleague road play vs. a team with a winning record where they are 16-41 in their last 57. The Birds are now 37-16 when following a loss in their last 53, and have taken care of business at home vs. a losing team at 10-2 in their last 12. Baltimore in this one.
