The Padres have won six of seven and are getting close to clinching a wild-card spot. On the other hand, Chicago is nearing the all-time record for most losses in a season and it lost its third in a row. San Diego has won six straight as a favorite of at least -201 and the Padres are 5-0 in Martin Perez's past five starts against teams with losing records. The White Sox are 1-11 their past 12 interleague games versus left-handed starters and they are 0-8 in Chris Flexen's past eight interleague starts. Flexen is 2-14 with a 5.09 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP.
