Chicago at San Diego

Chicago is headed for the most losses in major league history, including a 16-59 road record as the White Sox travel to San Diego. Meanwhile the Padres are two games up in the wild-card race and they have won five of six following Wednesday's 4-0 victory over Houston. The Padres have won five straight as home favorites of at least -201 and the White Sox are 1-8 in Garrett Crochet's past nine starts in the first game of a series. Joe Musgrove comes off six shutout innings on three hits in an 8-0 win over San Francisco on Saturday. Musgrove has pitched well since coming off the injured list in August and he has allowed only 10 runs in 38 innings. Crochet has not pitched past the fourth inning since June 30 and Chicago has the worst bullpen in the American League. Take the Padres.
