Chicago at Oakland

Oakland tied the series 1-1 with a 5-3 victory on Wednesday as Marcus Semien and Khris Davis homered, and the Athletics built a 5-0 lead, then hung on after the White Sox rallied late. It took a while, but the teams finally named their starters for today's game, and Mike Fiers is expected to go for Oakland. He pitched well his last two starts allowing three runs in 11 innings against Colorado and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fiers did not face the White Sox this year, but he did not allow a run in 14 2/3 innings pitched against them in 2019. Dane Dunning will likely start for Chicago, and he was hit hard his last two appearances giving up eight earned runs on nine hits in seven innings versus Cleveland and the Chicago Cubs.
