These teams are very similar. Both have parlayed very good pitching and defense into a winning record despite lackluster offense. The chance of either team exploding on offense is very low. So, it comes down to pitching. And in that category, Oakland owns a significant advantage this afternoon. While Chicago's Daniel Hudson has posted a decent 5.06 ERA, he's only started two games. Meanwhile, Dallas Braden has posted a 3.74 ERA in 16 games this season. And, he's been getting better. Over his last three starts, he's dropped that to 2.70. Backing him up is a bullpen that owns a stellar 2.81 ERA at home along with an 85% save rate. This is a good match-up for Oakland. They are 31-16 dating back to last season vs. AL teams batting .260 or worse. I like the A's behind Braden here.
