So which Jake Peavy is going to show up today? He's been hot and cold much of the season, but has a 5.09 ERA and a 1-2 record his last three starts. He's closing in on 200 innings and is off a start where he threw 117 pitches. Peavy struck out nine batters over 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the Tigers. Unfortunately for Peavy, he also allowed three earned runs along with a pair of homers. The White Sox are 2-5 in Peavy's last seven starts and 1-8 in his last nine road starts. He's matched up against a Twins team that is 4-1 in its last five games vs. a right-handed starter and Minnesota has a talented young arm in Scott Diamond (11-7, 3.46 ERA), who has walked just 26 in 148 innings. Chicago is in a pennant race, but is a 500 road team and just 7-11 their last 18. The White Sox are 6-13 in their last 19 against the American League Central and 3-9 in their last 12 road games, so grab the home dog. Play the Twins.
