Chicago at Kansas City

The Kansas City Royals are in a heated race in the Central Division, as well as the wild card race. James Shields was signed to be a top of the rotation pitcher for the Royals, and he has delivered a 14-7 record on the season backed by a 3.13 ERA.  John Danks has suffered through a poor season that has gotten progressively worse. Danks is 0-5 over his last eight starts with an ERA of 7.01, and that has moved his ERA for the season to over five as well. Shields has allowed three runs or less in 12 of his last 13 starts, and the way Danks has struggled, there certainly looks like a lot of wiggle room with Kansas City in this one. The Sox are now 0-7 behind Danks on grass, while Kansas City is 26-9 in Shields' last 35 starts on regular four days rest.
