Chicago at Kansas City

Chicago has won two straight following its 8-1 win over the Giants on Sunday as Jose Abreu continued his hot hitting, homering twice after hitting for the cycle the day before. Reynaldo Lopez goes tonight for Chicago, and he's making his fifth start of the season and coming off a six-inning effort against the Indians when he allowed just one run. Lopex has not given up more than three runs in three of his four outings. Jason Hammel is 8-10 with a 4.73 ERA and managed to win his last start, although he was touched for nine hits in six innings against the Tigers. Hammel has had only one good month this season (June), and he had a 4.80 ERA in August. Kansas City has lost four of Hammel's last five home starts versus losing teams, and the Royals are 2-5 their last seven after a win.
