Chicago at Houston

Chicago was no match for Lance McCullers, Jr. and the Astros in Game 1, and the White Sox have had trouble with the top teams in the league all season while feasting on the lesser teams. Framber Valdez starts today for Houston, and he was 11-6 with a 3.14 ERA this season and was generally consistent all year. Chicago hitters are batting .228 against him with just a .362 slugging percentage in 56 at-bats. Lucas Giolito finished with an 11-9 record and 3.53 ERA, but he was only 6-6 with a 4.31 ERA in day games when he had his worst opponent batting average of .254. Houston has won six of the last eight meetings overall and 13 of the last 16 meetings at home. The White Sox are 15-37 their past 52 games as underdogs and 15-41 as road dogs.
