Detroit beat the White Sox for the sixth time in a row dating to last season with a 2-1 victory on Friday. Carson Kelly hit a two-run homer in the second inning and that was all the runs the Tigers needed to snap a four-game losing streak. Kenta Maeda will be on the mound today and he has pitched much better at home where he owns a 3.38 ERA and a .217 opponent batting average. Drew Thorpe will make his third start for Chicago and he got destroyed his last outing allowing eight runs (seven earned) in 3 1/3 innings against Arizona on Sunday. The Tigers have gone UNDER five straight games and they are 4-0 UNDER after scoring two or fewer runs their previous game. Chicago has stayed UNDER its past four games.
