The Detroit Tigers had a misplaced year last season as they were expected to win the AL Central, but ended up in the basement. This year gives us some good early value on the Tigers as they attempt to be the team this year that everyone expected them to be last year. After a losing record, even at home last year, the Tigers are showing signs of change as they are off to a 3-1 start at home. The White Sox will send John Danks to the mound in this one. Danks pitched great in the opener, allowing zero runs in six innings, but he did the same last year, allowing one run in the opener in 6.2 innings then came back with a stinker allowing seven runs in 2.1 innings. Danks and the White Sox had an overall losing record in his starts when playing them on the runline last year. Rick Porcello, a former first-round draft pick will pitch for the Tigers. He had a great spring, but suffered some jitters in the opener, and should be much better with a game under his belt and at home here. I'll back the Tigers on the runline in this one.
