Chicago at Cleveland

Cleveland is off to a slow start offensively scoring a total of only five runs their first three games against Minnesota, losing two of them. The Indians are dealing with several injuries, and they struck out 39 times in their opening series. Chicago got its first win on Sunday when Lucas Giolito took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and the White Sox prevailed by a 6-3 score. Ivan Nova makes his first start for his new team, and his counterpart is Mike Clevinger, who has not been effective in the first game of a series. Cleveland has lost eight of Clevinger's last nine starts in that situation. The Indians could blame the cold weather for their lack of offense so far, but the temperature is forecast to be in the mid-30s today, so it looks like more of the same.
