In the battle of the Windy City, it’s worth taking a look at the underdogs on the run-line in games they can win or keep close. That’s common with rivalry series and yesterday the White Sox were a dog and got the money, 1-0. Today they are favored, however, with struggling Gavin Floyd on the hill at 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA his last three starts. The White Sox are 3-8 in Floyd’s last 11 starts as a favorite. The Cubs have already faced him this season and smacked him around for 6 runs in five innings in a Cubs’ win. The Cubs are 3-2 their last five games as an underdog and don’t quit, at 15-6 in their last 21 games after losing the first two games of a series. Throw in the fact that the White Sox are 4-18 in Floyd’s last 22 road starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5, and I’ll back the home dog on the run-line in this rivalry game. Play the Cubs on the runline.
