Anytime you have a 53-27 facing a 29-51 team while getting the line near -115, it is important to take a closer look at that game. In particular, when the team is the World Champs where they are playing a game in which many of their fans will be their as well to root them on. This is what we have today when the White Sox take on the lowly Cubs who are becoming a perinneal dissappointment as Wood and Prior continue to fail them. Although they have Derek Lee back, the Cubs still can't get in the win column on a consistent basis. Buehrle now has a stellar 9-4 record with a 3.22 era while having won his last 3 decisions and the White Sox having won his past four starts. He faced the Cubs earlier this year and pitched a complete game shutout giving up just two hits during that outing. That's right, a 2 hit shutout! Although Zambano is a great pitcher, the fact remains that this White Sox lineup is too stacked with talent as if not one player, the other, or if not the first time through the lineup, the second time through they eventually chip away at him. Let's ride the World Champs today as if the game is close near the end, we have to like our chances considering the shambles the Cubs bullpen is in with Dempster. He blew another save opportunity yesterday in a game that the Sox came back to win 8-6. The Sox are 7-1 in their last eight interleague games vs. a losing team and 5-1 in their last six as favorites of -110 to -150. The Cubs are going in the opposite direction as they are 1-6 in their last 7 interleague games vs. a left-handed starter and 0-5 of late against teams with a winning road record. Chicago today - White Sox that is.
