These teams are heading in different directions with one selling off salary, and the other making improvements for the stretch drive. It has been a difficult year for Matt Garza who has just four wins on the season, and the road tally shows the Cubs at just 2-6 in his eight road starts. The Cardinals acquired Edwin Jackson from the White Sox, just as he was starting to get straightened out, winning three of his last four starts. The Cubs are far from figuring things out as a road dog of +150 or less where they have proceeded to drop their last seven, and overall the road has been paved with land mines as they are just 7-21 in their last 28. St. Louis has dominated in this spot, turning in a nifty 51-20 mark at home vs. a struggling road team that has failed to log a .400 road mark or better. Take St. Louis in this one.
