Jason Vargas gets little ink playing in Seattle, and he has risen on the pitching charts to establish himself as a top-of-the-rotation pitcher, and rightfully so. Vargas enters with a 2.88 ERA on the season, and has gone 12 consecutive starts allowing 3 runs or less. Ryan Dempster has allowed 3 or less in four of his last five starts is also pitching very well. This total may sound low, but the Mariners have not seen any game they have played top it in over a week, and now have their most consistent pitcher on the hill. The Cubs stand at 33-15-4 to the UNDER in their last 52 vs. a lefthander, while Seattle is 61-30-3 to the UNDER in their last 94 interleague home games. Only one way to go here.
