Chicago won 5-3 on Monday for its fourth straight win over the Giants this season and the Cubs moved a game and a half ahead of Milwaukee in the NL Central. San Francisco is 44-70, including 25-32 at home, while the Cubs have won 13 of their last 16 road games. The Cubs have won six of their last seven road games against left-handed starters and 21 of their last 27 against southpaw starters overall. The Giants have lost 13 of their last 19 versus lefty starters. Jose Quintana recorded three quality starts since coming over from the White Sox before a rough outing against Arizona on Thursday. Quintana had a 1.78 ERA in June and 3.45 in July. Ty Blach is 7-7 with a 4.24 ERA and has faced the Cubs once this season allowing three runs on eight hits in seven innings.
