It's not very often we find Greg Maddux as an underdog and we'll take advantage of that opportunity today. Maddux seems to get better with age as he is now 5-1 with a 2.35 ERA. He had not yielded more than 2 runs a game till his last outing and loss to the Diamondbacks who roughed him up for 5 runs. I expect Maddux to bounce back strong against the Padres who still suffer from a lack of offense which has plagued them and is a recurring problem it seems for them. Maddux faces Chris Young today who is 2-2 and has a 3.56 ERA since coming from the Texas Rangers. The Cubs are 9-1 when Maddux starts on the road when the total is 9-10.5. They are also 5-1 when Maddux is on the mound as a road underdog while the Padres are 0-3 in Young's last three road starts and 1-4 of late when favored between the range of -110 to -150.
