The New York Yankees have been hit hard by injuries. They already don't have the services of A-Rod for the entire season, and have seen McCann, Jeter, Teixiera, Cervelli, Volarte, and closer David Robertson go down, or at the very least are hobbling. The Yankees were a borderline playoffs team at full strength, but have been greatly diminished now. Jason Hammel has pitched well and is 2-0 with a 2.63 ERA on the season, and unlike many NL starters, he has pitched at the Stadium. Hammel has been impressive at the new stadium where he owns a 3.21 ERA in three starts here. The Yankees are down to their third string catcher and a rookie pitcher - not a great combination. Back the Cubs.
