The Chicago Cubs remain in striking distance of the Pittsburgh Pirates, with a two-game deficit with three left to play, and they do hold the tie breaker. Jake Arrieta has been lights-out down the stretch, has recorded 21 wins, and could wrap up a Cy Young Award with a win tonight. Arrieta has recorded an amazing 19 consecutive quality starts, and his numbers since the All-Star break have been perhaps the best ever, as he is 11-1 with a 0.80 ERA. Arrieta has struck out 20 over 16 scoreless innings in his last two starts and seems to be getting even stronger. The Cubs are now 36-15 in their last 51 vs. a right-hander, and own a 42-18 mark behind Arrieta in his last 60 starts. The Brewers' 11-41 mark in their last 52 vs. a pitcher with a WHIP of less than 1.15 closes the deal. Back the Cubs.
