The underdog Cubbies have a live chance as a dog because of the live arm of Jason Hammel (3-1, 2.60 ERA), who has been great. He has allowed one, three, one, and three runs in four starts. His numbers for the season are sizzling, allowing five walks and only 14 hits in 27+ innings, along with 20 Ks! Opponents are hitting .151 off him. Even the offense is coming through for him with the Cubs scoring 19 runs in his four starts. Hammel pitched seven strong innings to lead the Cubs to a 9-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in his last start. Milwaukee goes with Wily Peralta, who is off to a good start, but this guy was 11-15 last year with a 4.37 ERA (4.77 at home). And he was removed from his previous start last week due to some tightness in his back, a bad sign for a big favorite. Play the Cubs.
