Chicago at Miami

The Chicago Cubs have been a fringe contender thus far this season, after several bad seasons. They are in a letdown spot here, after facing two contending teams, and two more on the horizon, as they open a series on the road vs. the 20-31 Miami Marlins.  Justin Bour has been swinging a hot bat for the Marlins with HRs in three consecutive games, which helped them miss a sweep of the New York Mets by a single run.  Jason Hammel has pitched better than his 3-2 record, but despite working 7+ innings in each of his last three starts, he has failed to record a win in any of them. The Cubs are not only facing a letdown situation here, but they have also squandered opportunities in this spot as they are a woeful 1-8 in Hammel's last nine starts vs. a losing team.
