The oddsmakers have posted a short total on this one of 6.5. The Dodgers have issues scoring, and in what should be a low-scoring game the runline is the valued side on the road team. If the season began on June 25th it would be the since 14-20 Dodgers looking down at the since 19-13 Cubs, who have been nearly six games better. Clayton Kershaw has had a great season, but is just 3-5 in his last eight starts if giving up -1.5 runs to the line. Six of the Dodgers’ 14 wins when he gets the ball have been by a single run. The Cubs have been pesky against lefthanders where they are 6-0 in their last six against one, while the Dodgers are leaking oil in their last six at home vs. a righthander at just 1-5. Play the Cubs on the runline.
