The Chicago Cubs franchise is a mess right now. They haven't put a competitive team on the field for a few years now, and are going backwards not forward. They lost 49 games on the road last year, and will likely top that mark this season. They stand at 6-12 so far this season, and overall have now lost seven straight games. The pitching is in shambles and has now allowed 70 runs over their last 10 games at 6, and 4 per contest. Houston is off of a disastrous 106-loss campaign and is turning the corner especially at home where they are now 14-10. J.A. Happ is coming off of six shutout innings in his last start vs. Milwaukee and is looking better and should be confident for a weak Cubs lineup. The Cubs are now 5-16 in their last 21 when facing a lefthander. Play Houston in this one.
