The Cubs have been 13-5 in Ted Lilly's last 18 starts, and the Reds are the worst team in baseball against LHP, posting a 23-37 mark while eating up 12.40 units for their backers on the season. The Reds are closing the season like a lamb, having dropped seven straight games, and quit comes to mind as they have not even produced a single run in the first two games of this series, bringing their shutout total to three in the last seven games and have been shutout by Cubs pitching four times this season. Homer Bailey is pitching to a 5.67 ERA, but what is worse is that he has failed to complete six innings in any of his last five starts. That opens the door to a Reds’ bullpen that has allowed 25 runs in his eight starts, or an additional 3+ a game. We will back the Cubs at almost even money to close the season with a sweep over the listless Reds.
