Chicago at Cincinnati

The rumors are swarming around Cincinnati and a lot of their starting players, and no one seems to be off limits at this point. That could make things interesting, but at the same time the focus of star players, wanting desperately to get traded to a contender, will have them fully engaged over the next 10 to 11 days. The Cubs, a bit short in the rotation may seek some help, but for now they go with Clayton Richard, who has a 5.79 ERA in limited work, and does not appear to be the short term answer. Michael Lorenzen at 3-4 carries a respectful 3.53 ERA into this contest, and is off a strong start his last time out. Clayton Richard has never fared well vs. the Reds in five career starts as he is winless with a 6.33 ERA. The Reds are now 7-1 in their last eight at home vs. a team with a winning record and seem to be engaged vs. the better teams. Make the play on Cincinnati.
