We were on the Reds yesterday but I'm switching gears today. Cincinnati won both games yesterday and I like the Cubs' motivation here as a result, especially if the Reds come out a bit fat and happy and flat. Chicago has now lost five straight and they will be bringing it all here to avoid a season worst six in a row. Alfredo Simon has pitched very well for the Reds, but Dallas Beeler also had a great lone start this year, giving up just 4 hits and no runs in six innings vs. the Nats a couple of weeks ago. Chciago's bats have been best in night games this year (4.2 runs per game vs. 3.8 overall) and over their last seven games, this offense has produced 4.9 runs per game. Cincinnati's offense has managed just 3.8 runs per game this season vs. RHP like Beeler. When revenging a 1-run loss as they are here, the Cubs are 10-4 this season. They are also 14-7 when seeking double revenge as they are here. Meanwhile, dating back to last season, Cincy is just 16-24 following a 1-run win. Take the Cubs here as a healthy dog.
