The Cubs pitching has been one of the big surprises of the baseball season. Travis Wood goes here with a 1.83 ERA striking out 13 in 19+ innings and allowing only 13 hits. He likes facing the Reds as well, with one walk and 11 strikeouts in 12 innings against them. The Cubs are 5-2 in Wood's last seven starts against the National League Central. It will help the Chicago offense to play in a home run happy park like Cincinnati. The Reds are favored but have an unreliable starter in Mike Leake going, with a 4.26 ERA. The team is 1-2 in his three starts and he was bombed in two of them, giving up 16 hits and nine runs in 12 innings combined against the Pirates and Nationals. The Reds are 1-4 in Leake's last five starts and 0-5 against the National League Central. Play the Cubs.
