The last place Cubs just got smacked around at home by last place Boston, losing the last two games 4-3 and 7-4. They looked inept in the field, on the mound and at the plate where they are 27th in runs scored, 28th in on-base percentage and 24th in slugging. When you factor in that they play half their games in a small park like Wrigley Field, those numbers look even worse. The Cubs are 15-39 in their last 54 road games and  9-24 in their last 33 interleague road games. And are they a bounce back team? No: the Cubs are 6-20 following a loss. Starter Matt Garza is 1-3 with a 4.73 ERA against the White Sox, who are in first place. The White Sox have no offensive problems, sixth in baseball in runs scored and 10th in slugging. The White Sox are 23-8 in their last 31 interleague games vs. a team with a losing record and 25-11 in their last 36 interleague home games. The Cubs are 0-7 in Garza's last seven starts and 6-18 in the last 24 meetings with the White Sox. Play the White Sox.
