The Tampa Bay Rays are trying to make the wildcard race in the AL interesting, but remain 5.5 games behind the Red Sox, with time running out. Jeremy Hellickson has done some nice work for them in the rotation, but Tampa Bay is just 4-4 in his last eight starts. Kyle Weiland should get a confidence boost from a scoreless and effective two-inning stint out of the pen his last time on the mound. The Sox are a hard team to hold down and have now gone 11-2 following a game where they scored 2 runs or less in their previous game. Boston is also 25-8 in their last 33 games vs. a winning team. Hellickson has lost a lot of his effectiveness facing-off vs. a winning team where the Rays are just 2-6 in his last eight. Play on Boston in this one.
