Boston snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Rays, whose nine-game win streak ended. Jarren Duran had a two-out, go-ahead RBI single in the ninth for the Red Sox, who are essentially tied with the Yankees for a playoff spot. Eduardo Rodriguez bounced back from a rough outing against Texas and pitched seven innings against Cleveland on Friday and allowed three runs on eight hits in a 4-3 Boston victory. Rodriguez had his best month of the season in August when he was 3-1 with a 3.33 ERA. The left-hander struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay on Aug. 10. Boston has been hit hard by COVID-19, but they added a couple relievers in Ryan Brasier and John Schreiber, as rosters were allowed to expand on Sept. 1. Take the Red Sox.
