The Red Sox have had their fun the last two nights but the Yankees have plenty to play for in trying to clinch a Wild Card spot. The Yankees are 57-23 after losing the first two games of a series. The Yankees go with their best pitcher in Masahiro Tanaka (12-7, 3.38 ERA) and the team is 28-13 in his last 41 starts. He is 7-4 at home this season and 3-0 against Boston. New York's offense is potent, second in baseball in runs scored, and fourth in slugging. The Yankees are 25-9 in game three of a series and face lefty Wade Miley (4.39 ERA), who has not been a good addition. He allowed four runs and eight hits over 6 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay on Thursday to absorb another loss, with the Red Sox 4-10 his last 14 starts. Miley is 0-2 with a 5.60 ERA in three starts against the Yankees this season, too. The Red Sox are 1-6 when Miley starts on the road, so grab home field and play on the NY Yankees.
