Wow! Boston exploded for a 16-1 rout of the shell-shocked Yankees, winning the key third game last night. Now they are up 2-1 in the series and the pressure is on the Bronx Bombers to win or their season is over. And that was with their ace on the mound, Severino. Now they turn to 38-year-old soft-throwing C.C. Sabathia, who Boston has hit at a .300 clip this season. It doesn't help that New York's underrated CF Aaron Hicks (hamstring) has missed the past two games. Boston got seven innings out of Nathan Eovaldi yesterday, meaning their strong and deep bullpen is rested. The Red Sox unleashed an 18-hit attack last night with an offense that was tops in baseball during the regular season in runs, on-base percentage, and slugging. Boston starter Rick Porcello was 10-3 on the road this season and is 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA against the Yankees. The Red Sox are 21-7 when Porcello starts on natural grass and the team is 46-13 against a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Play on Boston.
