The New York Yankees dropped the opener at The Stadium vs. their arch rival Red Sox. They get a shot at Josh Beckett tonight who has pitched well, but has really struggled over his career vs. the Yankees. While the Yankees used to be the team to wheel out a lefthander against, the Red Sox have shown a great deal of vulnerability to left-hand pitching, especially on the road where they are 1-5. They certainly have their hands full tonight with one of the game’s best southpaws in C.C. Sabathia. The Yanks’ stopper has led them to a 26-5 mark in his last 31 starts at the Stadium good enough to tag along with the chalk here. The Yankees get this one.
