New York rebounded from a loss on Friday to defeat the Red Sox 3-1 as Willie Calhoun and Gleyber Torres homered and Domingo German allowed one run in six innings. Clarke Schmidt will be hoping to get more run support as he has pitched well his past four starts with not a lot to show for it. Schmidt has allowed only six runs on 19 hits his past 21 2/3 innings, but the Yankees have lost the past three while scoring a total of only seven runs. Boston also has lost Brayan Bello's past three outings although he has allowed just six runs in that span, but Boston's bullpen has been the culprit in those games. The Red Sox have lost six of eight while averaging just 2.38 runs. New York has won seven of the past eight meetings and it is 40-14 its past 54 home games against opponents with losing records.
