Phil Hughes was at one time a prized prospect for the New York Yankees, and they resisted trading him. He has at times lived up to those expectations, and at home he has certainly been very strong in the rotation for the Yankees. Hughes has led the Yankees to a 40-15 mark in 55 home games as a favorite. More importantly, Hughes has been a stopper against the enemy Red Sox, where last year he went 3-1 with a 2.03 ERA against them. Boston has really struggled on the road vs. good teams having now gone a woeful 6-22 in their last 28 vs. a team with a winning home record. The Yankees improved to 42-18 in their last 60 at home vs. a lefthander last night vs. Red Sox ace, Jon Lester. Play this one on New York.
