Like last year the aging Yankees aren't hitting; 17th in runs scored, 28th in batting average, and 19th in on base percentage. The Yankees may be home, but they've been sloppy in the field. Masahiro Tanaka goes here and has struggled ever since an elbow injury last July. On Opening Day he allowed five runs over four innings against the Blue Jays. The Yankees are 2-5 in Tanaka's last seven starts, plus 2-5 as a home favorite. Boston threw money at good offensive players this offseason, and they're getting their money's worth ranked fourth in baseball in runs scored and fifth in on-base percentage. The Red Sox are 5-0 as an underdog. Boston righty Clay Buchholz was masterful on Opening Day, firing seven shutout innings while striking out nine. The Red Sox are 18-6 in Buchholz's last 24 road starts against a team with a losing record. Boston is also 5-2 in the Bronx. Play the Red Sox.
