The Red Sox are off a huge emotional series at home vs. the Yankees that saw the pendulum turn from even to a one-game lead over their arch-rival Bronx foes. They could certainly be on the letdown express for tonight's matchup with the Twins. Tim Wakefield was cast aside by young aspiring pitchers in the Sox rotation, is starter by default tonight due to myriad of injuries with the rotation, most notably Buchholz and Matsuzaka. Wakefield has an ERA of 5 while the Twins go with Scott Baker who is pitching great, leading the Twins to a 7-2 mark over his last nine starts where he owns an ERA of 2.02. Wakefield's credentials vs. the AL Central are leaking oil where the Sox are just 3-8 in his last 11 starts. While Baker is leading the Twins to a 20-7 mark at home in his last 27 starts vs. a winning team. Take Minnesota here.
