The wheels were already coming off in Boston, but the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park vs. a hated rival really turned ugly. The Sox owned a 9-0 lead, and ended up getting blown out by the dreaded Yankees who scored 15 unanswered runs in three innings. Bobby Valentine is taking a lot of heat, not only for their 4-10 start, but for throwing Kevin Youkulis under the bus in the process. The Sox’s pitching is the worst in the league and the bullpen is getting hammered. Jon Lester is part of the problem at 0-2 with a 5.82 ERA. Minnesota is 5-11, better than the Sox, and played the Yankees and Rays very tough on the road, losing the seven games by an average of less than 1 run. The Red Sox are now an unthinkable 5-22 in their last 27 vs. a right-hand starter. Play on Minnesota.
